Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 26, 2026

This policy explains how S. Leon Productions (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Insta Bible iOS app (the “App”) and on our website, https://instabibleapp.com (the “Site”).

Summary

  • You don’t need an account to use Insta Bible.
  • Your favorites, custom logo, watermark text and photos stay on your device.
  • We use a few trusted services for analytics, ads and push notifications. They may collect device and usage information, as described below.
  • Apple handles all payments. We never see your payment details.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Information in the App

Stored only on your device. Your saved favorite verses, settings, custom logo image or logo text, and the verse images you create are stored on your device. We don’t upload them to our servers. Background removal for your logo runs on your device.

Camera and photos. The App asks for camera and photo library access only when you choose to take or pick a photo for a verse background or logo, or to save a verse image to your photos. These photos are not uploaded to us.

Bible content and images. To show verses, the daily verse and background images, the App downloads content from our servers (instabibleapp.com and sleonproductions.com) and from the Bible.org Labs API. Like any web request, these servers receive basic technical information such as your IP address and device type. We use it only to deliver content and keep the service running.

Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics). We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used, for example which screens are opened, and to improve it. Firebase may collect app usage events, device model, operating system version, app version, approximate location based on IP address, and an app instance identifier. See Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Advertising (Google AdMob). The free version of the App shows banner ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device information, usage data, IP address and advertising identifiers to show and measure ads. If the App asks for permission to track and you decline, ads are not personalized using your device’s advertising identifier. Learn more: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

Push notifications (OneSignal). If you allow notifications, we use OneSignal to send messages such as the daily verse. OneSignal receives a push token and basic device information such as device type, OS version, language and time zone. You can turn notifications off at any time in your iPhone’s Settings. See OneSignal’s privacy policy: https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy

Purchases and gifts. Insta Bible Pro and gifts made through the Give tab are processed by Apple through the App Store. We don’t receive your name, payment card or billing details. Apple tells the App only which product you bought so it can unlock features. Gifts are not tax-deductible. Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Information on the Website

Comments. When you leave a comment, we collect the information in the comment form, your IP address and your browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it (https://automattic.com/privacy/). After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to it. Comments may be checked by an automated spam-detection service.

Cookies. If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email and website in cookies so you don’t have to enter them again. These cookies last one year. If you log in, we set cookies to save your login and display choices. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you choose “Remember Me”. Screen-options cookies last one year.

Media. If you upload images to the Site, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), because visitors can download it.

Embedded content. Pages may include embedded content such as videos from other websites. That content behaves as if you visited the other site, which may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with it.

How we use information

We use information to provide and improve the App and Site, deliver content and notifications, show ads in the free version, unlock purchases, prevent spam and abuse, and comply with the law.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers listed above, which work on our behalf, and when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention

App data on your device stays there until you delete it or delete the App. Analytics, advertising and notification data are kept by those providers under their own retention policies. Website comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically. Registered website users can view, edit or delete their profile information at any time.

Your rights and choices

  • Notifications: turn them off in Settings → Notifications → Insta Bible.
  • Ad tracking: manage it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Data on your device: delete it by removing your favorites or deleting the App.
  • Website data: if you have an account or have left comments, you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you or ask us to delete it. This doesn’t include data we must keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.

Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK, California or [the state you live in], you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete your information. Contact us to make a request.

Children

Insta Bible is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.

Where to put it: make sure the page is published at https://instabibleapp.com/privacy-policy/. That’s WordPress’s default address for the privacy page and the address I used. If your page is somewhere else, tell me and I’ll update it in the app. Use the same address in App Store Connect’s Privacy Policy URL field and in the App Description text from before.

App change: the paywall’s Privacy Policy button used to show a short in-app note saying “We don’t collect your personal data.” That contradicted the ads, analytics and notifications. The button now opens your web page instead, and I saved the change to your project on your Mac. I haven’t built it. Because the old note was inaccurate, ship this change in the resubmission: raise the build number, archive, upload, and select the new build on the version page.

Check your App Privacy answers: in App Store Connect, the App Privacy section should match this policy. That means listing the data Google, AdMob and OneSignal collect, such as device ID, usage data, approximate location and advertising data, with ads marked as used to track if they’re personalized. If those answers still say “Data Not Collected”, Apple will likely reject the app again.
